Planning: Exploring interest areas
Manu and I had a call today. We discussed the need to explore these themes more.
- Hypothesise: Come up with some beliefs or assumptions or claims that ground my interest.
- Talking to people in the field: Understanding what they see as opportunity areas in the space and maybe mapping it out over a one-hour call. So far I would like to talk to Andreas Refsgaard on the topic of machine learning, Simone Rebaudengo on the topic of autonomous machines, Annelie Berner on the topic of tangible data visualisation and Ishac Bertran on the topic of information and future interfaces
- Identifying patterns: From these talks, some patterns will emerge which will help me frame a design challenge. Some links related to framing design challenges: Link 1 Link 2
I will reach out to these people and have this done by Wednesday 12th
Chat with Yasaman and Simone
Chat with Simone and Yasaman this morning
“Everyone is trying to make their artificial intelligence more human but do we need to? What is the role of putting personality into things?”
“Find a really good question. The topic is interesting but what is interesting in it.”
“Have a strong point of view on something and base your project on it.”
“It’s important to have a human angle on your topic of inquiry.”
