Planning: My motivations
Personal development
In my past work, I have aimed for larger goals and had trouble translating it into an actionable project, the outcome of which I could be proud of. Or – I have worked on projects with very clear briefs (to the extent of being task-lists) that I did not feel ownership of. With this experience, I would like this to be my first well-defined, smartly-scoped, self-driven project. I want to attempt something more experimental because I believe in this as a unique opportunity to embrace that. It should demonstrate what I see as a key strength of interaction design which is 'design to provoke'. I need the project to allow me to get lost in the act of, almost meditative, making. I want it to cement my strength as someone who can quickly adapt and learn new technology and tools.
Future Plans
This project is for myself and not for the job I want. I hope it can be a calling card of sorts. A project I can present in-person as well as point to as an honest representation of my starting point of a journey as an interaction designer. I want it to set me on the path to becoming a programming-friendly designer with a better fluency in technology and prototyping.
