Research: Would you like to slow down time?
Connection with people
Desire to prolong experiences with people (eg: parting with friends, good conversations, moments of intimacy)
Connection with environment
Desire to prolong experiences of connection with surroundings (eg: Sunsets, good weather, dawn)
Connection with self
Desire to prolong planned periods of relaxation (eg. weekends, holidays, long showers)
Productivity
Desire to slow down in order to do more (eg. before deadlines, time to finish, longer productive time)
People have a desire to ‘hold on’ longer to moments that give bring them happiness. Time is viewed as an obstacle. But being more aware of it, just makes it more of an obstacle and the speed at which we experience things seems to relate closely to how engaged we are. We can manipulate time but we can’t manipulate our behaviour in response to it.
